Grad students interested in LEAD?

LEAD is running again this fall! LEAD is a course in Lifelong Education and Development.

This course is designed to help grad students and others explicitly learn professional and lifelong learning skills that are rarely explicitly taught. Ultimately, our goal with this course is to foster more inclusive, equitable, and productive research environments, and help set you up for success in your career. The online modules for this course are open education resources, co-created by experts from multiple institutions—including graduate students from uOttawa! We hope this course will help you reach your professional and learning goals and look forward to your feedback and other contributions along the way.

Check out LEAD’s modules. Anyone can work through the modules independently.

Check out the draft syllabus, which will be adapted and finalized in collaboration with students. In short, students enrolled in the course complete the modules independentely then come to class to further define and refine skills through activities, discussions, projects, and more. Assessments are directly aligned with and tailored to each student’s current context, so that the results can immediately be used (e.g., project management plan, mentorship).
